Yes we are still making music together. At this point in time, the members of lovechild have been hard at work at our other band, Burglary Years. We just released our first album, 100 Roses, after working on it for over three years. Hilariously enough, Burglary Years isn't an ~indie band spinoff of a hardcore band~ because Greg and I actually formed BY almost two years prior to lovechild ever existing ;)

100 Roses is currently available on cassette tape from our great friends Disposable America, which you can order here. We also made a beautiful 24-page full-color booklet to go along with the cassette. Later this year, the album will be available on vinyl thanks to the incredible Dog Knights Productions (UK) and the brand new Signal Fire Press (US). Our collective, 1997 Recordings, will also be partially responsible for this production.

Additionally, please check out the 1997 Recordings website, which has been recently updated to include many members within our collective, oftentimes musically incestous, friend group.

Here is our LP, streaming on bandcamp.

Additionally, all of lovechild's prior musical output can now be downloaded from Bandcamp for free / name-your-price basis. I noticed some things were not free for whatever reason and went to change all of that. I think lovechild will possibly be playing some live shows in the Fall. Also, if you care, we have some copies of Migraine Music including the out-of-print gold/100 pressing, and I think Mayfly Records still has some of the black copies for sale as well. You can email us if you are interested in purchasing directly.

Hello and greetings from the deep void of losing house majority to a political party founded on bigotry. As a friend put it, "On Saturday we set the clocks back an hour, on Tuesday we set the country back 50 years," and I could not have said it any better myself. To vent our frustrations with existence, we are please to announce that we have returned to play a few shows in some of our favorite cities in the month of November.
This weekend, we are playing a couple of dates with our friends Marietta from Philly and hopefully new friends Vasudeva (NJ), granted that they won't hate us within the short time we spend together. This tour is also hitting Boston on Friday the 7th at the Democracy Center, but we will not be playing.
  • 11/8/2014: Montreal, QC @ Casa del Popolo w. Marietta, Vasudeva, Gulfer | (event link)
  • 11/9/2014: Cohoes, NY @ The Icehouse w./ Marietta, Vasudeva, California Cousins | (event link)
Next weekend, we are playing a few shows as well. The first of which is in Boston (our first Boston show in nearly four months) with the incredible Backstabbers Inc., along with our main homies Mountain Man and good pals Disinterest from Philadelphia. Disinterest is one of our favorite bands in punk right now and if you miss this show, god damn are you missing out. We are playing NYC for the first time with our true freak siblings Yeehaw and People Like You. Be sure to catch their tour kickoff in Boston on Friday the 14th for some good times and enough heat to last all winter, if you know what I mean.
  • 11/15/2014: Cambridge, MA @ The Elks w./ Backstabbers Inc., Disinterest, Mountain Man, I Am Become Death | (event link)
  • 11/16/2014: Brooklyn, NY @ The Knitting Factory w./ Yeehaw!, People Like You, Soda Bomb | (event link)

Unfortunately our new record MIGRAINE MUSIC is still at the pressing plant, which is where it has been for the past four months. We are very sorry for the delay but we ensure you that it will be great when it is finally out. In the time being, our friends at Heads Up Records are offering a combo-cassette of which the A-side is MIGRAINE MUSIC and the B-side is In Heaven, Everything is Fine, limited to 30 copies.
Order one here.

We are about to embark on a short tour this weekend.

We may or may not have MIGRAINE MUSIC available on record in time for these shows. Either way, we are teaming up with our friends BUFU Records for a limited tour-only tape release of the record.
